Let your mind start a journey thru a strange new world.
Leave all your thoughts of the world you knew before.
Let your soul take you where you long to be...
Close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar,
and you’ll live as you’ve never lived before.
-Erich Fromm

Education
I am a graduate of Concord-Carlisle High School in Concord Massachusetts.
I earned my bachelor's degree in cardiopulmonary science from Northeastern University, where I also later received my master's degree in education.
Bridge Years
I have had the pleasure and honor of working at Bridge School for the past nineteen years. I would never dream of working at another school. For the first six years of my time at Bridge I was an instructional assistant working with 5th graders in the TLP program. This is my fourteenth year as a classroom teacher. I have spent thirteen of my fourteen years working in the 3rd grade. I was fortunate one year to loop with my 3rd grade class and also be their 4th grade teacher. That was a wonderful experience that I will never forget and always cherish. If the situation ever arises again I would loop with another class.
Outside of class, I enjoy reading, playing sports, and being with my family. I also am a published writer. I have written a middle-grade book called Peas and Hambone Save Us All. During the writing of that book I was lucky enough to read chapters to my class at the time. They provided valuable feedback to me that made the book stronger. Doing that also afforded the kids a chance to see how hard the writing process is and how just when you're finished writing you have really just begun. My being able to model the joys and struggles of the writing process I feel helps the kids become better writers. I am currently reading another book I have written, not published yet, to my current class. Once again the experience has been valuable not only for me but for the kids as well.
I enjoy teaching, and I am proud that I am a teacher.
